Volunteer Activities

Warm and happy with sincere volunteer activities

In 2005, Ildong Pharmaceutical Group formed Ildong Sharing and Volunteering Corps to do more for neighbors in need than simply making financial donations. The corps, which is made up of volunteers from Ildong Pharmaceutical’s personnel, provides in-depth training to the volunteers, is run by a structured team of administrators, and engages in numerous volunteer activities based on a carefully formulated plan. These activities include monthly or bimonthly visits to facilities for the elderly who suffer from dementia, facilities for the disabled, facilities for the elderly who live alone, and facilities for children.

Saebit Rehabilitation Center for the Blind

Since its launch in 2005, Ildong Sharing and Volunteering Corps has continued to work closely with Saebit Rehabilitation Center for the Blind. The center looks after individuals who were born blind and those who have lost their sight at a later point in life, giving them hope and helping them get the most out of life. Ildong Pharmaceutical Group’s volunteers visit this amazing facility on the second Saturday of each month, providing walking assistance, watching movies with the members of the center, and even helping out with kimchi making. As a rule, all teams within the group are required to volunteer at the center at least once a year.

Ildong Pharmaceutical Group also runs a program that makes it possible for its employees to donate a small portion of their pay each month towards good causes and help the group live up to its philosophy of serving as an elite organization contributing to the health and happiness of humankind.

Shinseng Children’s Home

Shinseng Children’s Home is a social-welfare foundation specializing in providing children who do not know the loving protection of parents a warm and caring home-like environment and the emotional support, education, and treatment they need.

Ildong Pharmaceutical’s manufacturing facility in Anseong formed a sisterhood relationship with Shinseng Children’s Home in 2008 and has been volunteering regularly at the home since.

Ildong Pharmaceutical’s pay-donation program also delivers financial aid to the home each month for use in maintaining a warm and loving environment the children can grow up in.

The House Love Fixed

The House Love Fixed is a special program in which Ildong employees volunteer to repair damaged homes of families and individuals in need.

In 2014, the program focused on repairing the homes of solitary women in their 60s.

One of the women who benefited from the program was forced to move into a home owned by an acquaintance after the roof of her original home had collapsed. The new home, however, was also in a dire, unhygienic state badly in need of repair. Even the walls were damaged and at risk of collapsing.
The woman couldn’t afford to fix up the place and needed outside help.

Volunteers from Ildong Pharmaceutical’s manufacturing facility in Anseong came to the rescue and, together with volunteers from Anseong Social Welfare Council, got to work revamping the woman’s home and fixing the damaged walls.

The repair was funded using pay donations from Ildong Pharmaceutical employees and additional funds raised by the volunteers from the manufacturing facility in Anseong.

The repair work included replacing the moldy wallpaper and flooring, installing a new sink in the kitchen, completely redoing the bathroom, and repairing the cracks in the ceiling and the walls.

Group Home Love Sharing

Group Home Love Sharing is a volunteer program run by employees from Ildong’s manufacturing facilities in Anseong and Cheongju.

The program, under the belief that children in need of protection are far better off in a home than in a facility, brings together four to five children together under the supervision of a single guardian to form individual family units.

Providing a safe, family-like environment makes it easier for the children to adapt and integrate into the society, and Ildong Pharmaceutical provides monthly donations to such group homes in Anseong and Cheongju.

Aronamin Volunteer Team

Aronamin Volunteer Team heads out during the hiking season in spring and autumn each year to clean up busy hiking trails, public parks, and other popular destinations and help the members of the public recharge in the same vein as the product the team is named after.

The team was created in part as a show of appreciation for the public’s fifty years of support for the Aronamin brand, and its clean-up campaign is quickly becoming one of Ildong Pharmaceutical Group’s most popular and appreciated volunteer campaigns.

Aronamin Volunteer Team visits popular hiking trails to welcome hikers, clean up the surroundings, and help preserve the environment.

All the team members are volunteers from within the group, have the freedom to choose which site to visit, and experience an immense sense of pride knowing they are helping to make the world a cleaner and better place along with their loved ones and colleagues.
